I ALWAYS HAD A CHOICE BUT...
Sometimes I rail against what people do
Sometimes I'm angry at the way things are going
Sometimes I'm afraid Congress won't do what's necesary
Sometimes I say politicians are all the same
BUT
Often I don't say what I deeply feel:
Things can change for the better
We all dream of a better future for our children
We CAN make a difference
AND THEN
I'll sound corny
From the CEO
I had to do it
Everyone else was doing it
They were making more profit
They would have replaced me
AND THEN
Someone else would do it
From The Investor
The books are in code
I can't set the compensation
It's a machine without a soul
SO
Only the stock price matters
I had to do it
If I didn't do it
Someone else would do it
From
Fanny and Freddy
Rating Agencies
Division Mangers
Mortgage Brokers
I had to do it
Everyone else was doing it
They were making more profit
They would have replaced me
AND THEN
Someone else would do it
From Congress
The economy was moving
They know what they're doing
Risk models, Hedges, and Naked Shorts
Naked, for sure
BUT
I had to do it
Everyone else was doing it
No Campaign Contributions
They would have replaced me
AND THEN
Someone else would do it
From The Super Banks and assorted Corporations
I have to hire lobbyists
Everyone else is doing it
If I don't do it
They would replace me
AND THEN
Someone else would do it
SO
CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM
When Corporations are treated as an Individual
The Individual is diminished
whether it's
the average voter
the out of the ordinary CEO
or
Our Elected Representatives
SUGGESTION BOX
End Campaign Contributions from Corporations, Groups, and PACs. etc.. The above would still BE FREE to March, Hold Rallies, Visit Congress, Phone Representatives, etc... Would still BE FREE to Advertise for their issues
Only INDIVIDUALS should be able to finance the officials elected to represent them
WHY?
There were (and are) alot of people who felt they were
NOT FREE to do what needed to be done
NOT FREE to do what they would have liked to do
TO BE FREE or not to be free ?
